How To Start Seeds for a Hydroponic System →
Some resources and links make it sound so technical and difficult to start hydro seedlings. It is not. And, in a pinch, you can buy soil seedlings and very carefully wash away the soil, keeping the tap root protected, and insert into a hydro system. Obviously this isn’t ideal but, as I said, will do in a pinch.

‘Keep farming laws local’ →
This just in from Michigan where urban farmers are trying to tell the state they want more control over agricultural ordinances because urban farms should not be regulated in the same manner as rural (larger) farms.
This is a BIG DEAL in local food production and distribution. Right now, people cannot readily grow vegetables and resell them to neighbors because the insurance cost is insanely...

From Utne Reader.
First Paragraph and Link to More:
If the ice is wet, the cone may overflow before you get the third squirt on there. If so, stop. Hand the cone slowly to the customer. Say, “Be careful. This one is pretty full....

FRACKING < ------- > PLASTICS
It’s come to my attention that some folks don’t understand that the hydrofracking boom is not necessarily related to providing natural gas to heat our homes. It is really related to supplying big industry with cheaper energy and cheaper raw materials. Here is an example (my writing, my example):
You have heard of fracking. You have heard of plastic. But did you know the two are...

You know what really pisses me off?
You know what really pisses me off? Shoprite brand Enriched White Top bread. It can’t take a stab of cold butter without breaking up into little crumbly pieces, even if toasted. I am going to feed half the loaf to the birds then I am returning it to the manufacturer for a full refund.
(PS: Things piss me off and I recently decided to return anything that pisses me off to the manufacturer...
